Southland Machine Operations have full time opportunities for Truck Drivers & Excavator Operators in our busy and forever growing  team.

These opportunities are for immediate start.

About the work:

This work involves a number of different duties including but limited to:

The transport of machinery and materials to and from job sites.
Driving Excavators, Machinery & Trucks on Roading & infrastructure projects around Southland.
Assist the rest of the team with general duties as required to ensure the work is achieved on time and to a high standard.
This work is rewarding and offers you the chance to use the roads & infrastructure that you've had a hand in building and repairing. This is outdoor work, and at times you will see all sorts of weather so there is a need for safe drivers who are capable and considerate with machines, we're happy to consider recently graduated class 4 drivers so long as you have truck driving experience.

Southland Machine Operations is a locally owned and operated company who strive to be a friendly one stop service for all your local machine operation's needs. There are two divisions of Southland Machine Operations. One is a Site Works team which work on town projects including roading, infrastructure, house pads, driveways & general civil construction. The other is our Farming Operation which take on all farm works including the design, build and installation of stock water and effluent systems, Stonetraps, Trenching, Lane maintenance etc

About you:

Keen to get stuck into their work and who aren't afraid to get involved in physical work from time to time.
As a skilled Truck Driver and/or Excavator Operator you already know a lot of what's required of you but no two days or jobs are the same.
You will be able to work well as part of a team and also be reliable enough to work individually, Experience in civil construction would be an advantage, but not essential as training will be given.

In addition to the above you'll have the following:

• A full Class 4 New Zealand drivers licence (Minimum)

• WTR endorsements

• The right to work in New Zealand and relevant documentation to prove it

• A current CV with contactable references

• The ability to pass pre-employment checks including; criminal history, drugs, alcohol and ACC history
